TYLER, TX (KLTV) - According to Tyler police, a car hit a fire truck at Parkdale and Gentry around 11:45am Friday. One person has been taken to the hospital by ambulance say police.

Tyler police say the fire truck was driving east on Gentry Parkway, responding to a house fire call. They paused at the intersection of Gentry Parkway and Parkdale Drive, then started to cross the intersection, say police. They were almost clear of the intersection when a woman driving a black Kia Spectra traveling north on Parkdale clipped the back of the firetruck. Police say she did have a green light, and didn't stop for the firetruck because she had her music turned way up and didn't hear the sirens. Police estimate she was traveling 50-60 miles per hour.

The damage to the firetruck was barely visible. In the photos to the right you can see the Kia was severely damaged.

No one on the firetruck was injured, but the driver of the Kia was taken to the hospital by ambulance. No word on her condition yet.

Investigators were called to the scene to determine who may be at fault.

Because of the crash, a different firetruck was dispatched to the home that had reported a fire and the situation turned out to be minimal.
