LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Straight from high school, to boot camp, to war veteran, an East Texas airman came home to a hero's welcome.

U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Roman Miller of White Oak returned home at East Texas Regional Airport today, as family, friends and members of Welcome Home Soldiers greeted him. He left home two weeks after graduating high school, straight to basic training, and has served two tours in Iraq and Kuwait, on transition and security teams.

Afterwards Miller was still trying to take the surprise in,"Thank you thank you, more than thank you," he said, "I guess I'll write letters to all of them, my mom will help me do that, it's a little embarrassing but I'll be alright, [I'll] be alright."

Miller is home on 4 weeks leave before going to his next duty station in California.
