Business manager says shooting was fallout from previous altercation

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police have apprehended two people allegedly connected to a Friday morning drive-by shooting.

According to Lt. David Young, several witnesses at Unique Toyz, at 1505 North Timberland Drive, said two shooters pulled up in a light brown Cadillac at 10:30 a.m. and shot several bullets into the business. Nobody was hurt.

Witnesses say they knew the shooters and directed police to the 100 block of Chambers Street. Police entered the home at 10:55 a.m. and apprehended two people. They have transported them to the police station for questioning.

The manager of the business, who asked he not be named, said in an interview that he was on his way to work when the driver of the Cadillac rammed him from behind. The manager kept driving and parked at work. That's when the shooter pulled into the business and fired shots at the manager's truck, his wife and the owner of the business.

The manager said he and the alleged shooter had a previous altercation at a Lufkin nightclub six months ago over "something stupid."

Police have not yet named the suspects in the case, as no charges have been made.

Unique Toyz is an automotive body repair shop.
