KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - Eight pieces of paper...the best kept secret in the state.

"If Congress was like the UIL, there would be no leaks, they say they know, but nobody ever knows," said Gilmer head coach Jeff Traylor.

Now they do, and one of the biggest secrets is now revealed...as coaches swooned over a packet of pages that named not only their new districts, but where and whom they will be playing next year, one district leap to the forefront.

"WOW, and Carthage, Henderson, Spring Hill and Gladewater and Pittsburg, it is unbelievable."

Unbelievable, yes, but also very true.

The defending champs from Gilmer, will be joined in the new district 16-3A, along with nemesis, 2-time defending champ Carthage, reigning semifinalist Pittsburg, Henderson, a drop down from 4A, a playoff team from Gladewater and Spring Hill...and unbelievable is now reality.

"This is definitely the toughest district that have been in," said Carthage head coach Scott Surratt, "And I am going on as my 4th year, and it is no doubt the toughest so far."

"I think this is going to be a great district, I really do," said Henderson head coach Dickey Meeks, "And we knew it could be."

The district may turn out to be the toughest in the state, and will make for some of the toughest games of the season

"The kids are going to be excited, and the coaches are excited, but we are definitely going to turn it up a level," said Surratt.

"That is a tough schedule, I don't know if our kids can hold up week in and week out," added Traylor, "I don't know if anyone can with that schedule."

It wont be too much longer until we find out.
