UPDATE: Accused baby thrower back in Smith County

UPDATE 02/02/2010 01:18PM: Kenneth Hunter has been transported back to Smith County.  He was spotted at a liquor store in Coffee City by someone that saw him on the news and the police were called.

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler police say Kenneth Hunter has been arrested for allegedly throwing his 3-week-old baby at its mother after an altercation between the two and the father's sister. The incident happened Sunday night on the 2000 block of Barnes Street.

Police say the baby hit the ground, injuring its head and was taken by ambulance to Mother Francis Hospital. The child was admitted to the hospital with swelling to the middle of the forehead. More tests were run and the child was released Monday afternoon.

According to police, the suspect, Kenneth Hunter, 30, also pointed a firearm at the 23-year-old mother before fleeing the scene.

Warrants were issued on Hunter for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and injury to a child.

Late Monday night, Tyler Police told KLTV 7 that Hunter was arrested in Henderson County.
