Victim stabbed during attempted robbery

TYLER, TX - At approximately 4:30am Thursday, two unknown black male suspects approached a 45-year-old man walking in the area of Robertson Road and West Shaw at threatened to rob him at knifepoint. 

The two black males, approximately 20 years old wearing all black hooded sweatshirts, then stabbed the victim at least three times in the area of the back lower neck causing minor cuts as they attempted to rob him of cash. The victim fought back and received an additional defense wound to the hand, before the suspects fled on foot without receiving any cash. The victim then walked to 1700 S Broadway where he called Police approximately 20 minutes later.  The victim was uncooperative and stated that he did not wish to pursue charges and would give no further information. 

Victim was taken to Trinity Mother Francis Hospital by EMS where he was treated for his non life threatening wounds.
