TYLER, TEXAS (KLTV) -   Members of the Texas Rangers were in East Texas Friday.  The Rangers Caravan stopped by Academy Sports in Tyler and Longview.

Pitcher Doug Mathis, Rangers Fox Sports T.V. Announcer Tom Grieve and former Rangers star Mark McLemore made the trip to sign autographs.  They says they're always surprised by the support outside of the metroplex.

"It's an important part of the off season because it gives fans outside the Metroplex, a chance to meet and greet the players," said Grieve.  "It's kind of our obligation to the fans for the support we get during the season."

The guys say they never get tired of signing for fans.

"No it doesn't get old," said McLemore.  "You ought to be thankful that someone remembers you and wants your autograph, so no it doesn't get tiring."
