PETA urges Holly Lake to not kill deer

HOLLY LAKE RANCH, TX (KLTV) - PETA is now joining in the debate over what to do about an out of control deer population in East Texas.

Texas Parks and Wildlife advised Holly Lake Ranch to control their deer population. One suggestion: kill 400 deer.

The animal-rights group says killing the deer would be cruel and are urging the community to oppose what they call an inhumane program.

The Holly Lake Ranch board of advisors will vote on this issue on January 26.
