SABINE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The storms also did some substantial damage in the southeastern parts of East Texas.

In Sabine County, a farm in the Sabine National Forest was destroyed Wednesday afternoon by what they are calling a tornado. The house was used as a weekend and summer getaway for a Lufkin and St. Augustine family. Just a few days ago, 15 family members spent the three day weekend enjoying the house and land. Luckily, everyone was out when the storms hit. Family members were back Thursday morning salvaging what they could of family heirlooms, furniture and pictures.

"We were just in awe of what could happen," said Mark Sandidge, the owner. "What a tornado can do. It moved the entire house 20 feet back and it's just taken out everything."

The land around the house has been in the family since the mid-1800s. They say the large pecan tree in the front of the house is the oldest pecan tree in Sabine County. But, the storms easily ripped it out of the ground.
