New Rose Roars

Tyler has a new reason to claim the title of Rose Capital. This spring, Chamblee's Nursery in Tyler is introducing a brand new flower to the world.

The Bengal Tiger Rose was recently bred and patented by Dallas rose grower Timm Kralovetz. The Bengal Tiger is the first rose Kralovetz has ever patented, and the first rose ever introduced by the Chamblee Nursery. Kralovetz says he tested the Bengal for heat and disease resistance by planting several along his driveway.

"It just seems like a bright strong vibrant plant. And I just couldn't think of anything more reflective of something strong and vibrant and healthy as a tiger. You know, a Bengal Tiger."

A portion of every sale for the Bengal Tiger Rose is donated to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Save the Tiger Fund.
