HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Wednesday night's storm cut a path from one corner of East Texas to the other. Hundreds of Henderson County residents were left without power, while others were forced to look for a place to sleep.

In the Poyner-Larue area it was clear while some folks dodged the bullet, others seemed to have been hit at point blank range by the storms. Fire crews were sort-of scattered around, trying to help out who the could, where they could. Electric crews were also out trying to restore power.

In one neighborhood, neighbors helped clear a giant tree from Kevin and April Baucom's driveway. The couple says they were inside with their three boys when the storm blew through, taking their roof and front porch with it. In fact, Kevin says he was sitting in their living room right before their chimney and ceiling came crashing down on top of them...

"I told April to get the kids and they got to bathroom, and then I jumped on top of them...and then I went to get a mattress and I didn't have time...the wind was too much, and I had to get back in on top of them in the bath tub" says Kevin Baucom.

April says about the time her husband shut the door, the windows started busting. He grabbed the kids, got in the bath tub and that was it. The tornado took everything out.

Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt says they have coordinating officers checking to see how much damage they have.

Thankfully, the Baucom's say they're all safe and unharmed. So far, there have been no reports of any injuries.
