Food bank targeted by vandals again

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas food bank ministry is the target of vandals and thieves once again.

Longview police say it happened around 2am Friday at the Save Our Nations ministries in the 1500 block of South Green Street.

Two juveniles are accused of breaking into the building. Ministry workers say computers, printers and other equipment was taken, and graffiti was sprayed across the building.

"We buy a lot of our food from the Food Bank and so having funds available to do that this sort of thing interrupts that process and lessens the money that would normally be spent on food for those that need it," said Vicky Powell, Resource Director for Sabine County.

Both suspects are being held in the juvenile detention center. Ministry workers say this is the third vandalism incident at the warehouse in the last six weeks.
