SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - We're learning more about the arrest of former Smith County Sheriff's Deputy Terry Lindsey.

The arrest affidavit says Lindsey was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to the arrest affidavit, it was actually several weapons.

The incident happened during a party at Deputy Lindsey's house on December 27th.

Joshua Barnes is accused of stabbing James Brandon Lee at the home, and Lindsey's arrest has to do with the force he used to arrest Barnes.

The first weapon was Lindsey's Smith County Sheriff's Office-issued rifle, which he used to hit Barnes in the head. After hitting Barnes with the rifle, Lindsey went back into his home to retrieve his pistol. The affidavit says that Lindsey then hit Barnes with the pistol, and later hit him with handcuffs, and a yard rake while trying to subdue him.

The affidavit also says that in reviewing the 9-1-1 calls from the incident, women can be heard screaming, "Stop, Terry."

Deputy Lindsey was released from jail early Thursday morning on a $350,000 bond.
