Released by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office:

On January 13,2010, HCSO Investigator Bryan Tower, assisted by Texas Ranger Michael Adcock and HCDA's Investigator Jody Miller, made an arrest in connection with the murder investigation of Corey James David. David's burned body was located, during a missing persons investigation conducted by the Sheriffs Office, on January 7, 2010 off of County Road 391 1 in Henderson County.

Preliminary report fiom the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences is that David's death was caused by homicidal violence including a gun shot wound and that the manner of death was homicide.

Officers arrested 37-year-old James Arlie Hampton on a Murder warrant issued by Henderson County Justice of the Peace Pct. 6 Milton Adams. Hampton was transported to the Henderson County Detention Center.

Henderson County Justice of the Peace Pct 1 Henry Ashford set Hampton's bond at $1,000,000. At the time of this release, Harnpton remains in custody.
