Search uncovers meth lab, 1 arrested

Released by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office:

On Wednesday 01/13/10 Henderson County Sheriffs Deputy Billy Valentine drove to a residence on FM 161 6 for a warrant service. Deputy Valentine observed items on the property that are consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Deputy Valentine contacted Investigators with the Henderson County Sheriffs Office Drug Enforcement Unit. Drug Enforcement Unit Investigators Ronny Halbert, David Faught, and Darrell Waller went to the residence and unsuccessfully attempted to contact any persons inside.

Investigators obtained a search warrant signed by Justice of the Peace Pct 6 Judge Milton Adams. Investigators executed the search warrant and located Jerry Owens inside the residence. Investigators located an active methamphetamine lab at the residence.

Jerry Owens was arrested for Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 1 >200grams <400 grams and several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Owens was transported to the Henderson County Justice Center where he is awaiting arraignment.

This case will be filed with Henderson County District Attorney's office for prosecution.
