Edom Art Fair Draws Artists, Fans

A famous festival brought some of the best artists in the South to East Texas. The 30th Edom Art Fair, held in conjunction with the Tyler Museum of Art, will draw over three thousand people this weekend.

The fair began in the small community of Edom years ago, and moved to the Tyler Museum of Art four years ago. The art fair features artists from as far away as Wisconsin and Colorado, and organizers are selective in choosing the best works for their show.

"I think if you went to some of the really large art festivals in Dallas and Ft. Worth and Austin," coordinator Beth Brown says, "And took about 70 of the cream of the crop of those artists, that would be what you find here at the Edom show."

The Edom Art Fair will continue Sunday from noon until five. It's located in the Ornelas Center at Tyler Junior College, right behind the Tyler Museum of Art.
