TYLER, TX (KLTV) - East Texans are in need, and, now, a local church is answering the call.
At Grace Community Church in Tyler, East Texans dropped off piles and piles of food. The donations will now go to replenish the shelves at the East Texas Food Bank.
"It surprised me a bit," said Jim Rice, director of the East Texas Food Bank. "If it had been a couple of weeks, people would have time to plan, but that quick it surprised me very much."
In all, Grace raised over 2300 pounds of food for the Food Bank.
