LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - 1970 Hallsville high school graduate Ann Toler- Howe somehow lost her class ring in the 1980's.
"You keep thinking its going to show up," Ann said. "You know you'll find it when you move, you think you'll find it in a drawer somewhere and you look in the car all the time, and then after a while you think it may not show up."
But she was notified this week that a woman had found it on a Florida beach this summer.
"I have no idea how it got on a Florida beach," Ann says. "I don't."
In a ceremony at a Bobcat pep rally today, in familiar surroundings of the school she graduated from, Ann was reunited with her class ring.
"It was really fun and really nice," Ann said. "I haven't been to a pep rally in a really long time, about 40 years."
Needless to say, getting the ring back was a shock.
"And the whole thing was fun," Ann said. "The whole experience was nice."
She can now show people what she had missed for so long, and she says she'll keep a much closer eye on her ring this time around.
