HALLSVILLE, TX (KLTV) - Imagine being an East Texas high school graduate, losing your class ring on a Florida beach, then, four decades later, you get a call that your ring has been found.

1970 Hallsville High School graduate Ann Toler-Howe somehow lost her class ring in the 1980's.

"You keep thinking it's going to show up, you know you'll find it when you move, you think you'll find it in a drawer somewhere, and you look in the car all the time, and then, after a while, you think it may not show up," said .

But, Ann Toler-Howe was notified this week that a woman had found it on a Florida beach this summer.

"Do you have any idea how it got on a Florida beach?" I asked Toler-Howe.

"I don't," she replied.

In a ceremony at a Bobcat pep rally Friday, Toler-Howe was reunited with her class ring.

"It was really fun and really nice," she said. "I haven't been to a pep rally in a really long time - about 40 years."

Needless to say, getting it back was a shock.

"And, the whole thing was fun," said Toler-Howe. "The whole experience was nice."

She can now show people what for so long she had missed.

Howe says she is almost certain that she will keep a much closer eye on her ring this time around.
