He spent his whole life collecting Hot Wheels, but now Wayne Rose of Tyler is about to turn over his entire collection to a nonprofit hospital in Dallas. Born without a radius in his wrist and a thumb without ligaments, Wayne initially had trouble gripping objects.
But that changed a few years ago, when doctors at Scottish Rite Hospital removed his index finger and sculpted a thumb.
He's now returning the favor by giving his entire Hot Wheel collection to the hospital for display.
"I wanted to give them to the hospital, so other kids could look at them and forget their pain," says the six year old. Doctors are planning another surgery that will straighten Wayne's arm.
