TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Preliminary numbers are in from this weekend's "No Refusal DWI Campaign." Smith County authorities tells us eight people were arrested for DWI between New Year's Eve night and this morning - five were arrested for public intoxication.

Tyler police say Idelfonso Monrreal's drunk driving wreck actually knocked out power for several North Tyler residence.

Police say part of Commerce Street near the Delek Refinery was blocked of today while crews worked to restore service to the area. Police say Monrreal ran off the road, hit a pole, and blew a transformer.

"He was interviewed, and performed some field sobriety tests," said Sergeant Jerald Riggle, Tyler Police Department. "It was determined that he was intoxicated and he was taken to jail."

Police say they'll still be out in extra numbers looking for drunk drivers throughout the "No Refusal Weekend."
