EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - The Texas Department of Transportation says they are ready to respond Tuesday night, just in case the roads start getting slick.
Tuesday, crews loaded trucks with a sand and rock mixture they can sprinkle on roads, bridges, and overpasses. They warn that bridges and overpasses can be the first places to ice over, so be careful.
"Anytime the pavement can be anything but dry...drive accordingly," said Larry Krantz, with the Texas Department of Transportation. "Keep your speed down, keep your distance from other people on the road, don't drive in people's blind spots."
Crews have also been put on call if the weather gets worse overnight.
