Church helping with cleanup after twister

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas ministry is on the way to Lufkin to help residents pick up from the tornadoes. The Macedonia Baptist Church chain saw team is gearing up to head down to help out this week. Lufkin was the hardest hit area from last week's twister.

The Chain Saw Men Team are part of a bigger group known as Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief. They go all over helping clear tree debris from homes at no charge. For the men it's there way to show a labor of love.

"There's folks out there that don't have anything," said Gary Hunt, a Chainsaw Team member. "They've got a house...but they have no insurance so their home gets destroyed and they have no way of repairing it."

Most of the equipment the men use to do the storm damage repairs is donated by the Southern Baptist Churches Convention. Some the men even donate their own tools to assist with labor.
