Released by the Tyler Police Department:
TYLER, TX - Tyler Police responded to a convenient store located in the 1100 block of West Gentry Parkway around 2:00 a.m. Monday morning in response to a report of an armed robbery. Officers discovered that two to three unknown males entered the store and demanded money and property from the clerk. They left the premises on foot, but are believed to have fled the area in an unknown vehicle. The clerk was uninjured.
The suspects were described as black males in their late teens or early twenties, wearing dark clothes and brandishing two black, semi-automatic handguns. Jewelry, cigars, and an undisclosed amount of cash were reportedly taken during the incident. Some of the stolen property was recovered a short distance from the store.
The crime scene was processed for evidence and there is video footage from surveillance cameras. The investigation is currently still active.
The following descriptions of the two suspects involved in the armed robbery of Kureshe's Mart, located at 1118 W. Gentry, on December 28, 2009 at 2:00 a.m., are as follows:
Suspect #1: Is wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt with a dark short sleeved shirt over it, black shorts, black tennis shoes, a black stocking over his face, a dark toboggan, and blue rubber gloves.
Suspect #2: Is wearing blue denim jeans with the bottoms rolled up, black and red shoes, a dark hooded sweat shirt, a dark cap with a white logo on the front, a black stoking over his face, and blue rubber gloves.
Both were armed with small handguns, and threatened to shoot the clerk.
