GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - One hard hit Longview neighborhood is still reeling from the tornado damage.
It was a disaster scene Wednesday night in the 4300 block of Page Rd, one home had the roof ripped off.
There was so much debris scattered everywhere, that the homeowners left the damaged home before we arrived. In fact, all up and down Page road there were signs of pure destruction.
Jeremy Smith says he's lucky to be alive. "We stepped outside and everything was demolished," said Smith.
Jeremy was on his front porch, near the Page road neighborhood when the tornado toppled trees and pounded homes.
"I seen the funnel. When I seen it, I really didn't think that we were going to make it to the closets, because it was right there on us. It was so quick, I mean usually we'll hear the emergency horn first. I guess the tornado dropped down before they could sound the alarms,"said Smith.
Thankfully, no one was hurt, but residents are now left with a big mess to clean up.
"I got four kids and my sister was there and we were all in the closet. Luckily, everybody was ok. Ok for the Smith family, but unfortunately not so ok for some folks' property.
