TYLER, TX (KLTV) - East Texas kids now have a chance to let their imagination run wild, exploring the days when dinosaurs walked this earth.
The Discovery Science Place unveiled 'The Dig Pit Adventure,' in Tyler earlier Thursday. The exhibit, literally, features a pit where kids can dig around and search for "fossils." It's also a learning experience, teaching children about how dinosaurs used to live millions of years ago.
"We've got dinosaur bones [and] kids can learn about paleontology," said Michael Shanklin, with the Discovery Science Place. "I've not met a young child who is not interested in dinosaurs. So, this is a great way for adults to take that natural curiosity that children have and feed that in a really rich way."
The Discovery Science Place was recognized recently as one of the Top 25 science centers in the nation by 'Parents Magazine.'
