UPDATE: Deputies ID possible homicide victim

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating an apparent homicide after the body of a white female was discovered in a wooded area off of County Road 950 near the Rusk County line earlier Thursday morning.

According to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, the body is believed to be that of Stephanie Fowler Presley of Nacogdoches.

The cause of death has not been determined, but the victim appeared to have been shot at least once. Justice of the Peace Kerry Don Williamson has ordered an autopsy that is scheduled to be conducted Friday.

Officials say that Mrs. Presley was reported missing by family members earlier Thursday afternoon after she did not attend work and was not at her home.

"Her estranged spouse, John Presley of Pasadena is considered a suspect in this case," said Nacogdoches County Sheriff Thomas Kerss.

A Murder warrant has been issued for against John Presley. He was last known to have been driving a blue or green Lincoln with New Mexico license plates. He is considered armed and dangerous.
