Family's home burns second time

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - For the last five years, an East Texas woman and her son have been putting their life back together after a fire destroyed everything they own. Now, they are having to rebuild for the second time.

Wednesday morning, Vanessa Williams had little to salvage from the frame house. It burned Tuesday night, and firefighters suspect an electrical malfunction.

Williams was able to recover a few things, but not close to what she had. All of her belongings were replaced items from the house fire five years ago next month. But Williams is not dwelling on the loss. Instead she's counting her blessings.

"You know we have family and that's the most important thing," said Williams. "We've got angels watching over us and a good group of firemen that got out here as quick as they could. Just keep your family and your friends close. Everything else will come together."

Williams and her son are spending the night with her grandparents. Williams says she does not need any help, because her family and friends are taking good care of her and her son.
