KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - Two East Texas soldiers were escorted to a "Welcome Home Soldiers" celebration in Kilgore by Patriot Guard riders.

Marine PFC Blake Lucius is back from Okinawa, Japan, after training for nearly a year.

Also, Specialist Justin Petty with the 32nd Airborne returned home after spending a year in Iraq.

Both soldiers said they are glad to be back home in East Texas for the holidays.

One is headed for Afghanistan, the other is coping with losing some of his fellow soldiers.

"We lost seven soldiers. It's unfortunate and I really wish it didn't happen. I'm grateful for the service they gave for me and they were right there beside me," said Specialist Petty.

"I'd like to see all the guys come home. I really would, especially since I'm facing going to Afghanistan, but we also got a job to do. We also got to sleep at night, knowing that nothings going to bother Americans,"said PFC Lucius.

Blake will travel to Afghanistan in June.  Specialist Petty will be home for a month before heading back to Iraq.
