Released by the Tyler PD:

TYLER, TX - On Thursday, December 03, 2009, Tyler investigators arrested 40-year-old Victor Jerome Lee for Online Solicitation of a Minor, a 2nd degree felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Drug Free Zone, State Jail Felony.

The case was initiated when the father reported to police that he observed sexually explicit text messages on his 12-year-old son's cell phone. Tyler police investigators were able to trace where the sexually explicit messages were being sent from and the identity of the sender. Investigators were told that this case went beyond just text messaging where Lee had met with the juvenile in person in a parking lot in his vehicle.

Investigators found evidence that led them to develop probable cause to believe that Victor Lee intentionally would have engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with the juvenile and Lee knowingly solicited to have the juvenile meet with him via text message. Investigators also discovered several prescription drugs in Lee's apartment that he was not in lawful possession of that was within 1000 feet of a drug free school zone.

Victor Lee was placed under arrest at the Tyler Police Department when he met with investigators this afternoon. Bond was set at $500,000.00.
