Community Spotlight – Salvation Army

Few service organizations touch a broader scope of the community than the Salvation Army.  The Salvation Army is a solid ministry designed to provide any number of assistance roles to our neighbors in need.  The Army has specific services for veterans, the elderly, prisoner rehabilitation, disaster relief and many others.  The Red Kettle Christmas campaign is the oldest annual fund of its kind in the U-S.  and that just says that the need for their services has spanned many generations.  The Salvation Army has facilities in both Tyler and Longview and in 2008 helped more than 8-thousand East Texans and served more than 200-thousand meals.  This is truly a far reaching ministry.  And that is why the Salvation Army is KLTV's community Spotlight for December.  You can help the mission of the Salvation Army by donating your money and time and you can also give through car donations, airline miles and other forms of giving.  So know that the need is great right now and you can help right now.  You can visit the Salvation Army website for details of how to give back are listed on there. The Salvation Army, helping thousands of East Texans in a desperate time of need and KLTV's Community Spotlight for December, making this a Better East Texas.
