WHITEHOUSE, TX (KLTV)- Whitehouse I.S.D. is hoping the Christmas spirit will help them cash in. Band boosters have set up a tree lot near Hwy. 100 and FM 346.

Booster Tony Hill said although their trees may be more expensive, they're the freshest living room decoration you'll find in East Texas.

"Our trees come from Kirk Christmas Tree Company in Oregon. These trees were standing in a field seven days ago," Hill said.

The first customer, Joe Davis, said he was impressed with the selection; on display: Noble Firs, Balsam Firs and Scotch Pines.

An unusual fundraising effort that is sure to please the eye. The trees are all displayed upright to give you an idea of what they'll look in your house, "It looks prettier. It shows you that whenever the tree's out it shows you how pretty it is. If it's down on the ground then you really can't see how pretty it is, says band member Shannon Keiningham.

The trees range from $40- $120. The lot is open weekdays from 5pm to 9pm, all day Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
