TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Some East Texas kids need a little extra help this holiday season, and that's where you come in. Friday morning, Tyler's Salvation Army kicked off their angel tree drive at the Broadway Square Mall. Organizers say the recession has hit several families, and they need your help now more than ever.
"The economy has taken a toll on everyone, and, this Christmas, we've seen it once again," said Captain Zach Bell, with Tyler's Salvation Army. "Compared to last year we've seen more than 50 percent more people sign up for the angel tree. So we need people so step up that much more. We're grateful to KLTV for sponsoring. But folks, you see it, you hear it, and I hope you respond to it."
You can pick up an angel request at the Broadway Square Mall in Tyler.
In addition to children, the Salvation Army reminds you that gift requests are also available for East Texas seniors in need.
