HALLSVILLE, TX (KLTV) - It was a big techno jump for some East Texas grade-schoolers Friday. Second, third and fourth graders at Hallsville Elementary were given iPod Nanos by the school district.
One thousand were handed out.
The school says the Nano will provide students a way of learning that will excite them as well as meet their individual learning styles. For the kids, it was like an early Christmas.
"I think it's special because mostly not very many kids around the world get these, and I think it feels special to have one," said Caleb Langley, a third grader.
"Other schools I've been to we never had anything like this," said Nine-year-old Addison Blissett. "It's really good opportunity to have something like this."
The kids will be able to take the Nanos home after Thanksgiving.
