UIL champions to participate in U.N.'s 'The People Speak'

LINDALE, TX - The UIL champion Lindale High School Speech/Debate Teams will host a debate next week as part of a contest entered through the National Forensic League and "The People Speak" Forum of the United Nations.

The debate will be held Monday, November 16 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Lecture Room at Lindale High School.

The debate topic is, "When it cannot do both, the United Nations should prioritize poverty reduction over combating climate change."  The public and media are invited to attend the debate.

In May, 2009 the LHS speech/debate teams won its fourth state championship in five years.  The Eagles also won the state crown in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
