Gift of Love Makes East Texas Boy Very Happy

William is a happy, playful 7 year old, now that he's found his forever family. Cathy, his new Mom says, "He captured all of our hearts very very quickly." Donny and Cathy opened their East Texas home to William giving him the love he never had. But before he could except it and move forward, this young boy had to deal with his past, full of neglect and abuse. "He's come a long way. He really has. A long way," says Donny.

Will, as his family calls him, now has six brothers and sisters, all adopted. "When these kids come in they are hungry for attention and for love and for someone to care for them," Donny explains. This East Texas couple already had one biological son when they decided to expand their family. They say it's their calling to help children. Over the past 14 years they have fostered close to 40 children. Donny says, "When I come home from work my day's not finished. Sometimes it's just getting started. You'd be surprised what you can do when you put your mind to it."

Will has grown and bonded with his new family. In fact, the Gift of Love has changed all of these children. In some cases so much, it's almost unbelievable. Cathy says, "I've had children in my home that physiologists and psychiatrists told us, 'Don't commit to these child because they can't change you're going to regret it, and there's nothing you can do there's too much damage.' Then, when we've had those same doctors look me in they eye and say, 'This child loves you,' and you know that love made the difference. Then, it's all worth it."

Cathy and Donny agree, it hasn't all been easy, requiring a lot of patience. However, they say as long as there are children in need of a home, they will continue to open theirs as foster parents. Donny sums it up saying, "With a whole lot of praying and Gods help, you can make a difference in a kids life."
