East Texas Road Crews Say They're Ready

Road crews say they're ready, regardless of what happens with the weather tonight.

Tyler Street Department workers loaded dump trucks with gravel and sand to spread on bridges and roadways if necessary. Same story at TXDOT headquarters all over East Texas. Workers say this is one aspect of their job where experience really pays off. "We have people that have been around a while and know which roads are susceptable to icing first. And, we kind of monitor those roadways,"  says Vernon Webb from Texas Department of Transportation.

TXDOT is cautioning drivers to be very careful on the roads Monday night and Tuesday morning. They remind us that cars need 3 times more space as usual to stop on slick roads.
