Three's Company in Lindale

By Coleman Swierc - bio | email

LINDALE, TEXAS (KLTV) - Lindale quarterback Matt Broussard is no stranger to getting hurt.

"Ive broken something these past 3 years."

Even after a broken rib early this year…Broussard is back, and he has company.

"There are so many different things that we can throw at them," said Broussard, of Lindale now using three different quarterbacks, "because if I'm not player quarterback I will go to receiver, and John will play quarterback, or Clay will come in, so we rotate."

It's no longer a one quarterback show in Lindale…for the Eagles, three arms are better than on

"After he went down, they told me that I was going to move to quarterback," said junior quarterback John Ryzman, "and I got pretty nervous, but we calmed down, and got the job done, and look where we are now."

Broussard, is joined by junior John Ryzman and sophomore Clay Price as Eagles taking snaps under center.

Three is definitely better than one.

"If one thing is not working early then we can change and start throwing if we aren't running or start running if we cant throw it, just change it up," said Price.

"No one can game plan for us, because we have so many things that we can throw at them," said Broussard.

Of course…three qb's mean three different styles.

All three agreed that the sophomore Price has the best arm, the best legs, not so obvious.

"When we are in open field, definitely Matt," said Ryzman, "but I give myself some props, I feel that I can run a little bit harder."

"They have such different styles, Matt has speed, John is a bit more of a power guy," said Price.

No matter the style, one thing is clear in Lindale, numbers 5, 10 and 15…have gotten really good at putting up 6.

The Eagles will play Sulphur Springs in a bi-district match up on Friday, at 7:30 from Van Memorial Stadium.
