Released by the Van Police Department:

Monday, James McIlvain walked into the Van ISD Administration building and voiced a threat to officials. Van PD Chief Kelly Smith, Van ISD Chief Donnie Payne and Sgt. Gary McDaniel made contact with him in the front parking lot of the Administration building. McIlvain wanted officers to take him to jail and said that his purpose was to get everyone's attention. McIlvain was issued Criminal Trespass warnings at the discretion of Van ISD and ordered not to return to any school property or athletic events.

Chief Smith issued a Criminal Trespass warning that McIlvain acknowledged with his signature. Yet, it is evident that he does not reason with others well and his intentions could be dangerous.

McIlvain is residing on County Road 1412 outside of Van. Use extreme caution with this subject. If he is seen at any of the campuses or near any residence contact the police department immediately.
