CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A late night joyride could put its driver behind bars. Deep ruts and tire tracks covered Eagle's Bluff golf course Wednesday. Authorities say sometime between 10 Tuesday night and 4 Wednesday morning, a truck drove onto the course tearing up greens and fairways. The driver left behind $4,000 worth of damage to the course as well as his license plate, which police think fell off during the destruction.
"When someone does something like this, it shows complete disrespect," said Mark Hutton, the Eagle's Bluff Superintendent. "It would be no different than them going to the clubhouse and busting out all the windows its vandalism."
No arrests have been made on the case. Cherokee County Sheriff's investigators say if arrested the driver could face felony charges and up to two years in prison.
