TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The word "flexible" generally is used to describe a good thing. If someone is flexible, they're generally easy going or they're in good enough shape they can bend without breaking. Flexible benefits and flexible spending accounts are all good things. But, a flexible computer keyboard? Well, I had to put that one to the Does it Work? test.

The Flexible Keyboard is a full size keyboard and it sports a USB connection. Why, you say, would you want a keyboard that was flexible. Portability for one thing, but there are other advantages.

I opened the packaging and found the product to b, well, flexible and easy. My operating system recognized it just like that.

It took a little getting used to. It was weird and didn't feel like a regular keyboard. Spacebar especially gave me trouble. It is the same size as other keyboards. But, my fingers had trouble figuring out how hard to press. No click when you press down either. I knew instantly, it could never be a replacement for my hard keyboard. I kept checking to see if the letters were making it to the screen.

One thing's for sure: I couldn't type anywhere near my normal speed.

How does it handle gaming? It survived at Tetris until I had a meeting to go to. After rolling it up to take it into the meeting (keep in mind about 20 minutes into this experiment) we had a torn key. Though it was just the F4 button, it certainly seemed an appropriate grade for durability.

The top of the keys are reinforced, but the sides are very, very thin so they're flexible. And, with the tear, of course there goes all the claims of being waterproof. The flexible keyboard died in the water.

Does it work? Good idea, but probably not worth your money. We give the flexible keyboard, a 'No.'
