GRAND SALINE, TX (KLTV) - Grand Saline police are responding to a bank robbery Monday morning.
The Mineola Community Bank on Frank Street in Grand Saline (near Brookshire's) was robbed around 10:30am. Police say a man wearing a camouflage mask and blue hooded sweatshirt walked into the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect took off on foot.
Authorities are conducting an air and ground search. Police say search dogs followed the suspect's sent along the nearby railroad tracks, where it disappeared at Houston Street.
Police Chief Larry Compton says 30 minutes before the robbery, a bomb threat was called in to Grand Saline High School. He says they are looking into the possibility of a connection between the two.
