17 year old Zavyon Rettig is and honor student at Carlisle High School. He's a letterman in track. And he holds the distinction of being selected High School First Chair Baritone Sax in Texas. He's the first student ever in the school's history to receive the state's top honor.
Being chosen best in the state at his instrument doesn't come as a surprise to the faculty, who say Rettig has a voracious drive for success. And his teachers say there is nothing, from science to ballet that the junior student can't conquer. Rettig was part of the 2002 Carlisle Band, which placed top honors for calls 1-A schools.
