TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Texas Senator John Cornyn has said that Texas was originally promised 3.4-million doses of the H1N1 vaccine. But, there's a nationwide shortage, and now we'll get only half that number in Texas.

"The problem is, I know that even for those in the higher risk categories, that this reduced amount is causing some real disruptions and causing some delays in getting those people vaccinated," said Cornyn. "So, I'm sure public health officials in Texas are doing the best they can under the circumstances."

Senator Cornyn is still recommends people who are considered at risk for H1N1 take the vaccine, because the CDC says the peak of exposure to the vaccine will happen over the next couple of weeks.
