TYLER, TX - Officials with Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics announced that National Research Corporation (NRC) has recognized Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler as one of the nation's top hospitals (as chosen by health care consumers in the Tyler metro area) for having the highest quality and image in the community. This is the fourteenth year that NRC has awarded hospitals throughout the United States whose consumers have recognized them for providing quality healthcare services.

Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler was selected for the award along with 280 other facilities in the top 300 markets across the country.

Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics president Lindsey Bradley, FACHE stated, "This is the fourth consecutive year our patients chose Mother Frances Hospital as their preferred health care provider.  It is an honor that they consistently put their faith in our ability to serve their medical needs."

"It takes the effort of all employees working together to consistently meet the needs of our patients and their families," said David K.

Teegarden, MD, president and chief medical officer, Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics.  "We will continue to work to earn their trust."

Ginny Martin, President of NRC's Ticker Division, said winners are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected by NRC's Healthcare Market Guide Ticker study.  Of the 3,200 hospitals named by consumers in the study, the winning facilities rank highest in their Core Based Statistical Areas as defined by the US Census Bureau.  The Ticker study surveyed over 250,000 households representing over 450,000 consumers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.

National Research Corporation is an industry leader, with more than two decades of experience in health care performance measurement and improvement.

Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics includes Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler, Mother Frances Hospital-Jacksonville, Trinity Mother Frances Rehabilitation Hospital, affiliated with HealthSouth, Tyler ContinueCARE Hospital Tyler ContinueCARE Hospital, a long-term acute care facility, and Trinity Clinic.  Trinity Clinic is the area's preferred multispecialty medical group, with over 250 physicians and mid-level providers representing 37 specialties in 34 clinic locations serving east Texas.  For more information on services available through Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics, visit www.tmfhs.org.

Often times, African American history is only recognized during the month of February.  Founders of the Texas African American Museum felt their history slowly slipping away, now they are hoping to change that with the opening of the museum. "Some of the things I've seen in this little museum, I've not seen in history books, I've not seen online," visitor Cramoeya Cooper said.
