UT Health Center Breaks Ground For Memorial Plaza

They fought for our freedom years ago and today their spirit is remembered. UT Health Center broke ground on a memorial plaza for the people who served and worked at Camp Fannin. The Camp Fannin station hospital was donated to the state of Texas in 1948. The memorial will honor world war two veterans, especially the 250 thousand men who trained at Camp Fannin during the war like Roger Seacrest, "It means a great deal because I think it's a culmination of a dream we had," He says. "We're going to leave something which younger people will remember us."

The memorial will be located in a park like setting on the Health Center grounds within the sight of Highway 271.
