TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The popular pumpkin. It not only makes tasty treats, but the orange fruit is packed full of antioxidants and beta-carotene. A range of pumpkin products sit on store shelves, from pumpkin pedicures to pumpkin peels.

To explain to us how it all works, we turned to Jessica's Massage Spa in Tyler. There they whipped up an organic pumpkin mask, which smelled delicious. They also offer a pumpkin peel treatment which targets acne.

"It's exfoliating the skin and drawing impurities out of the skin and, at the same time, it's bringing a lot of vitamins and nutrients," said Imelda Castillo, with Jessica's Massage Spa.

At Allure Medica, they're praising a pumpkin enzyme scrub.

"It has the pumpkin which is going to give like a light chemical exfoliation and it's got the jojoba beads which will give you a light manual exfoliation as well," said Amber Rix, with Allure Medica.

Removing dead skin cells without the irritation.

"A lot of scrubs with pumpkin in it, and you know they're especially great for the fall because one, you've got to rid of all the damage that you have from the summer and two, you have the fall smell to it," explained Rix.

So, whether you want to moisturize, tighten, plumpen, or soften, it seems the pumpkin offers it all. The pumpkin is also one of the Orange Foods that is a good flu fighter. Visit your dermatologist or local spa to see what pumpkin products they offer.
