LONGVIEW (KLTV) - The memory and life of a fallen East Texas fire fighter and his twin brother are being remembered.
Sunday, a pavilion was dedicated in honor of Chris and Corey Carpenter. Last year, Chris was killed after two boats collided on Lake Cherokee.
Two and half years before that, his twin brother, Corey was also killed in a boating accident. The Carpenter family hopes the pavilion will enhance the Asbury House Child Enrichment Center.
"Our hope is that the pavilion will somehow inspire children to remember what they learn here at Asbury House when they grow up," said the twins' father, Tem Carpenter III. "Hopefully, the pavilion will be a place where they don't get wet or hot when they play and they can look up and know that Chris and Cory are always watching over them."
The Carpenter family says without donations from family, friends, and generous East Texans, they would not have been able to build the pavilion.
