Cowboy Church of Harrison County hosts open house

Released by Julie Tucker with the Cowboy Church of Harrison County:

The Cowboy Church of Harrison County, 1361 FM 450 S, Hallsville, Texas, will host an Open House at their new meeting facility on Sunday, November 1, 2009.  The Church's Two Year Anniversary will also be celebrated on that day.  Morning Services start at 9:30 a.m. followed by lunch, a 1:00 p.m. concert with The Hubbard Family, and a 2:00 p.m. dedication and recognition service.  Pastor of the church is Joe C. Hall.

The Cowboy Church of Harrison County began with a few families seeing a need to reach folks in the Harrison County area through the western heritage culture.  Planning meetings were held in various homes and services began in November, 2007, in the barn of Mike & Melody Shirley on Galilee Road in Hallsville.  In October 2008, the church outgrew the barn and was invited to move to Triple Creek Ranch, where Raymond & Ellie Murray graciously provided a meeting place for the past year.

Construction of the new facility was under the direction of Gary Welborn, Facility Team Leader and owner of Welborn Mechanical Services, and Darrel Neal, a local contractor.   Architectural and design services were provided through a partnership with Missionary Tech Team of Longview.  The site is already home to an arena that has hosted numerous events this year including ropings, barrel races and playdays.  The actual cost of the new building is considerably less than the appraised value due to the donations of countless hours of labor by church membership and members of fellow churches, as well as donations of materials provided by local businesses and individuals.

Cowboy Church is a place where everyone is welcome and many have realized God's grace for the first time.  God has indeed blessed us tremendously!
