HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas county commissioner is arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated early Wednesday morning on Holocomb Road, just south of Marshall in Harrison County.

Law enforcement says Harrison County Commissioner Jeffrey Thompson was arrested after taking a field sobriety test - one that judges eye and motor reaction.

The Harrison County Sheriff's Department says a resident called them after she saw a suspicious vehicle parked behind a residence. Investigators say Thompson was the driver of the 'suspicious vehicle' and drove from the parking lot onto the roadway. The resident followed, keeping an eye on the vehicle until law enforcement arrived, gave the sobriety test and made the arrest.

Thompson was arraigned Wednesday morning and his bond was set at $1,500. A jail official says Thompson has since bonded out.
